My artist journey, spanning from the rugged landscapes of Western Canada to the serene countryside of the East, is a harmonious blend of inspiration drawn from the poetry of nature
and the textures of life's imperfections.
Artist Statement
My work is rooted in a deep connection to nature and a longing for simplicity in an often chaotic world. I create semi-abstract landscapes and portraits that are both serene and atmospheric, drawing inspiration from the prairies and mountains of my Alberta upbringing and the lush beauty of Quebec, where I now call home.
After earning an associate’s degree in Illustration and Design at Dawson College in Montreal, I found myself drawn not to urban landscapes but to the quiet power of lakes, skies, and open horizons. Now working from my barn studio, in rural Saint-Lazare, I use watered-down, drippy acrylics and layered transparencies to create soft, luminous effects. These techniques lend my work a dreamlike quality, as if viewing the world through a rain-streaked window or stepping into a memory.
Nature guides my creative process, with its colors, textures, and moods shaping each piece. My hope is that my work offers a moment of stillness and connection, inviting viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the beauty and calm of the natural world.
