Jilly Frances

Jilly Frances is a Toronto-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, ink-making, and poetry. Rooted in attention and observation, her work explores the emotional texture of everyday life, often drawing from the natural forces and fragility of what it means to be here. The paintings do not demand attention through spectacle, but draw it through subtlety, atmosphere, and emotional depth. Through her art, rain becomes a partner, the mundane becomes luminous, and fleeting moments are given a lasting, contemplative form. Frances' work does not seek to resolve the tension between permanence and impermanence, but to hold space for both, proposing that even ordinary or ephemeral traces of daily life can offer us glimpses of the sacred.
