The essence of these creations explored how colour and light, combined with my impressionist brush strokes, uniquely captured Oakville as one has never seen it before.
Oakville on Canvas is a project that I have been considering developing for quite some time. I always knew that both Oakville’s sophisticated urban chic and its natural landscape had great potential as a muse for my artistic ventures. My commitment to capturing Oakville in oils became reality when Cindy Cottrelle, the owner of Summer and Grace Gallery, extended an invitation to host my show. The onset of this collaboration came about organically, and preparing the artworks for this show has reminded me of the beauty that occurs when urban and nature co-exist.
This Collection will take you along Oakville’s stunning waterfront, where you may become one with the shimmering blue waters of the two marinas where boating and sailing is part of everyday life. Outside of the charming elegance of Oakville’s downtown core, I spent a lot of time painting at local parks where towering trees met the meandering trails, ultimately becoming my subject matter.
My commitment to create these 30 artworks was more than just capturing scenery. The essence of these creations explored how colour and light, combined with my impressionist brush strokes, uniquely captured Oakville as one has never seen it before. An opportunity for the viewer to connect and experience the beautiful town of Oakville in new and exciting ways - Oakville on Canvas.
