Christine Code Bio:

Christine's work has been juried into several national and international exhibitions. She has won awards through the Federation of Canadian Artists, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS), Oil Painters of America (OPA), Modern Impressionist Salon, and the PleinAir Salon. Her work has been featured in PleinAir Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, Modern Impressionist Magazine, and the Cover of Art Avenue Magazine.

Christine has works held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Australia, Belgium, England, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

"I live in small town Saskatchewan, Canada where I can see the horizon for miles. Big skies are a common theme in my paintings. I like to explore other subjects as well and aim to convey a particular mood or atmosphere in each piece through interesting brushwork and palette knife passages. I enjoy the techniques of impressionism and tonalism. I have three children and I am an avid gardener."
 

Jeanette Meehan Bio:

Jeanette Meehan was born in 1965, to parents Michael Meehan and
Gertrude(Kielly)Meehan. Growing up in the small fishing town of Point La Haye,
Newfoundland and Labrador.


In 1984 she began as a studio assistant for Christopher Pratt helping with print
making, priming canvases, stretching watercolour paper, and eventually
underpainting. In the time Jeanette assisted Pratt’s in his studio, she gradually started working on her own works, doing watercolours and oil paintings.

 

In 2005 she started showing and selling her work at the Emma Butler Gallery,
later at the Peter Lewis Gallery and now at the James Baird Gallery.
Jeanette had her first group show in 2008 and in 2014 showing with fellow artist
at the Emma Butler Gallery. Another showing of her work a the Peter Lewis Gallery
in 2016.

 

Her work is owned in private collections throughout Newfoundland and Labrador
and Canada. Her work can also be found in public collection’s in St. John’s City
Hall, as well as The Rooms Art Gallery and other private collections.

 

Jeanette's Artist Statement:


“I paint objects found in my everyday surroundings as I travel around the
wonderful province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Things sitting on wharves,
lying in sand, driving, anything that moves me in some special way.
