I am inspired by the ironic fleeting moments in everyday life, our relationships with each other and seeing the world from a unique perspective, both literally and figuratively. I invite the viewer to continue the stories for themselves.
Vanessa Cress Lokos is an award winning artist from Burlington, Ontario, and a member of the Ontario Society of Artists (https://ontariosocietyofartists.org/).
Her art practice includes explorations in oil, acrylic, photography, printmaking and installation. Recently Vanessa's focus has been on her love of glaze oil painting techniques, which she uses to create contemporary figurative paintings. She first learned this traditional method over a decade ago at the Art Gallery of Burlington (https://agb.life/).
Vanessa has studied, exhibited and sold internationally. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, Australia and Barbados. She has a BA with a Concentration in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa (https://www.uottawa.ca/en) and has been exhibiting regularly since 2009.
The artist is an active member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association (https://www.burlingtonfinearts.com/), the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington (https://artscultureburlington.ca/), Hamilton Artist Inc. and the Canadian Glaze Oil Society.
